Drinking Water at the Stumble Inn

Hi. I'm Charles the Bear Cub. You know me. I live on Sparkle Road with my buddy, James. He's really old. He was the second Canadian to get off Noah's Ark, you know.

Oh. Wait! Chance lives with us, too. He's a newborn cubby someone left in a basket on our doorstep. He's a wee little thing. He's so newborn he doesn't have any teeth. He doesn't even have a tail! I look after Chance, too. He's a handful!

Know what? We're at the Stumble Inn. It's on Sandwich Street right by our house. I can ride there on my blue bike. It's a nice place to sit outside on the patio and eat yummy food. Chance and me are drinking water. James says we need to drink lots of water in the summer time because it is very hot outside and we don't want to get sick. Water is good for us. Jason is the boss at the Stumble Inn. He gives us water to drink. He puts a lemon slice in the water. I like lemon water. It's good. Jason gives us straws. Straws are fun, you know. I can make BIG noises when I drink with a straw. Chance is too newborn to know how to drink with a straw. Mostly he gets water all over himself but he likes it and makes little squeaky noises. That's how I know he's happy.

Today we can have French fries with our water. I l-o-v-e French fries, don't you? They're very yummy, especially 'cuz I can pour ketchup on them.

I think I would pour ketchup on everything! Well, I wouldn't pour ketchup on Chance. That would not be nice and then I'd have to sit on the Time Out Chair and think about what I did. I hate to think about what I did. Thinking is hard.

Oh. Wait! Did you hear that? James is hollering, "Where are my handsome bear cubs? Where are my Sons of Windsor? Where are my Princes of Ontario? That's me! Charles! That's Chance! We're handsome bear cubs. We're Sons of Windsor and Princes of Ontario! We gotta go find James so we can get our ears tickled and our noses kissed.

This is me, Charles the Bear Cub saying, "Be good citizens. Drink lots of water on hot summer days. Then you can stay happy and healthy Oh! Wait! Come over to our house and play with us! We can go see Jason and sit under an umbrella and eat French fries and drink water together! Okay! Over and out!"

Visiting the Cardoliogy Clinic

Hi. I'm Charles the Bear Cub. You know me. I live on Sparkle Road with my buddy, James. That's right by Sandwich Street in Olde Sandwich Towne. That's in Windsor, you know. I know where Windsor is. It's in O Canada. James is really old. Grandpa James was the second Canadian to get off Noah's Ark, you know.

Oh. Wait! Chance lives with us, too. He's a newborn cubby someone left in a basket on our doorstep. He's a wee little thing. I look after Chance, too. He's a handful! He doesn't have any teeth, yet. He doesn't even have a tail! Chance takes off his diaper and climbs way high on things and can't get down. I have to help him. I say, "My son! Come down from there this instant!" Chance makes little squawky noises when he's sad or afraid and little squeaky noises when he's happy.

Today we're visiting the cardiologist. Know what? I'm getting my blood pressure checked by Miss Ann. She has an important job. Miss Ann is a Cardiovascular Technologist. She looks after our hearts. I'm gonna tell you a secret. I think Miss Ann is a Princess. When I grow up I could be a Cardiovascular Technologist. I could help everyone by checking their hearts. I could use a sphygmomanometer to take everyone's blood pressure.

I would give everyone a nice ultrasound, too. That's a movie of my heart. Miss Ann says my blood pressure is perfect. That means my heart is happy and healthy. My movie is good, too!

If you want to have a good heart you have to eat from all four food groups in Canada's Food Guide. I know the four food groups: Yummy, Sweet, Sticky and Nasty. I don't like to eat nasty foods, like broccolis and sauerkrauts, but I hold my nose and take two bites, anyway. Miss Sephorah is my teacher at the Scruffy Maple Day Care Centre and she taught all of us about the four food groups.

Oh.

Read Canada's Food Guide. Eat from all four food groups. Then you can have a box of Smarties and drink root beer. Oh! Wait! Come over to our house and play with us! We can visit Miss Ann and get our blood pressure checked.  We can have an ultrasound, too. That would be fun! Okay! Over and out!"

Our Visit to Pelee Island

Hi. I'm Charles the Bear Cub. You know me. I live on Sparkle Road with my buddy, James. He's really old. He was the second Canadian to get off Noah's Ark, you know. I look after him.

Oh. Wait! Chance lives with us, too. He's a newborn cubby someone left in a basket on our doorstep. He's a wee little thing. I look after Chance, too. He's a handful! He climbs way high on things and then he can't get down. I have to say, "My son! Come down from there this instant!" Then I have to help him 'cuz he's afraid and makes little squawky noises.

Know what? We went to Pelee Island with Grandpa James and Nana Elizabeth. We get to ride on the ferry. You can't drive there 'cuz it's an island. We have to ride on the MV Jiimaan. When the captain says, "All aboard!" we cast off and away we go! I l-o-v-e to ride on the Jiimaan.

Pelee Island is a fun place to visit. Here's Chance and me at Vin Villa. It's a model. The real Vin Villa burnt down a long time ago. They used to make wine there.

We went to the Pelee Island Winery. The nice people show us how they grow grapes and make wine. Wine is for grownups. Chance tried to taste the wine but we gave him grape juice, instead. Grape juice is newborn baby wine, you know.

We had lunch at the winery. We ate yummy food. I had a licorice and peanut butter sandwich. Chance doesn't have teeth. He just drinks chocolate owls' milk. We get it at Mac's Milk.

We met some nice ladies from Children's Aid. They have a very important job. They keep children and cubs safe. I'm glad they do that. Maybe I will work for Children's Aid when I grow up.

Oh.

Be kind to friends and neighbours. Then you can eat Smarties and drink root beer. Oh! Wait! Come over to our house and play with us! We can get on the Jiimaan and go to Pelee Island together! Okay! Over and out!"
