Art

Hi. I'm Charles the Bear Cub. You know me. I live on Sparkle Road with my buddy, James. He's forgetful and really old. He was the second Canadian to get off Noah's Ark, you know. James forgot to  buy gummy worms. I had to put Smarties in my porridge this morning. Oh. Wait! Chance lives with us, too. He's a newborn cubby someone left in a basket on our doorstep. He's a wee little thing. I look after Chance, too. He's a handful!

Know what? I've climbed up on this statue. The people are real, they're just not alive. That's what a statue is. It's art. Art is pretty. I know all about art 'cuz Miss Jackie taught me. She's our teacher at the Scruffy Maple Day Care Centre. Miss Jackie is pretty. She has a nice laugh, too. She showed me how to colour inside the lines and how to paw paint. I like to paw paint with peanut butter 'cuz I can eat it if I get hungry. Making art always makes me hungry I don't know how to make a statue, yet.  I wonder if statues are made out of peanut butter. I know. I'll ask James. He knows lots of things.

Did you hear that? James is hollering, "Where's my handsome bear cubs? Where are my Sons of Windsor? Where are my Princes of Ontario?" That's me! Charles! That's Chance! I'd better get down from here and find Chance. Then we can get our ears tickled and our noses kissed. Maybe we will eat wallermelon. Okay. This is me, Charles the Bear Cub saying, "Be good citizens. Make art. Over and out!"

The Funnest Game Ever

Hi. I'm Charles the Bear Cub. I live on Sparkle Road with my buddy,  James. I have to look after him 'cuz he's really forgetful and old. He was the second Canadian to get off Noah's Ark.   Oh, wait. Chance lives with us, too. He's a newborn cubby someone left on our doorstep one morning. He's a wee little thing. I have to look after him, too.

Know what? I'm sneaking up on Chance. He doesn't know I'm behind him. I'm gonna holler, "Who's a handsome bear cub?" and then I'll tickle his ears and kiss his nose. He will make little squeaky noises cuz he's happy. That's what I'm gonna do. It's the funnest game ever.

We're gonna climb up on the counter and find the peanut butter in the cupboard. Then we can eat peanut butter right out of the jar. I l-o-v-e peanut butter. So does Chance. Maybe we'll make paw paintings with peanut butter for  James. We don't have any paper but we can make them right on the floor! Won't he be surprised? Oh, yeah! Good idea. Okay. We gotta go. We got something fun to do. This is us, Charles and Chance the handsome bear cubs saying, 'over and out!"

Peanut Butter

Hi. I'm Charles the Handsome Bear Cub. You know me. I live on Sparkle Road with my buddy James. I look after him 'cuz he's forgetful and really old. He was the second Canadian to get off Noah's Ark. He's older than peanut butter. That must be really old.

Know what? I'm at Westside Foods. I'm gonna put all this peanut butter in this buggy and take it home. I know things about peanut butter.

1. Peanut butter comes from little bear cubbies. It is squeezed right out of them. See the sign? It says, "Squeeze."
2. Peanut butter is sticky. Sticky is one of the four food groups in the Canada Food Guide.
3. Peanut butter makes good paw paint and we can eat it, too.
4. I always make peanut butter happy faces on my pancakes.
5. NEVER fall asleep in bed with an open jar of peanut butter.
6. I know how to make peanut butter and orange juice sandwiches.

That's what I know about peanut butter. Now I'm gonna go find my buddy James and see if we can go down to the Detroit River and watch the ducks. Maybe we can feed them peanut butter! Yeah! Okay! I gotta go! This is me, Charles the Bear Cub saying, "Be good citizens. Take peanut butter to the ducks when you go to the river. Bye for now! Over and out!"
